WOW! My first freebie has had a fantastic response!
4,000 unique visitors since Friday at 3:00 a.m.!!!! 950 free ebooks sent out so far!! WAHOO!!!!
Since the inception of our new and improved web site, I haven’t had time to offer a freebie. But I did finally get one out this weekend.
The Old Schoolhouse let their customers know that Kap & Pen was offering a free ebook on how to feed a family of two adults and up to 6 children on $600/month, written by yours truly! (The national average is $200/week for a family of four! At that rate, I’d be spending $400/week or $1,600/month. Actually, even more than that, because I have two extra adults I feed everyday. Plus we entertain frequently.)
In any event, I know folks who feed their large families for $50-$75/week, but the bulk of their diet consists of biscuits, beans, and cabbage. We don’t want to have to eat that way. So, my plans have lots of meat and veggies and variety. And it really works – I’m feeding 8 adults and two children everyday, and I am staying between $600-$700 a month.
I’m so excited for the response I’ve had to this freebie! People from all over the US, Canada, Australia – even Singapore – have downloaded this file. I love this part the most: Several people have already contacted me and thanked me for making it available. I have heard from the nicest people – I’m really excited about this, and I intend to offer freebies more often.
The ebook downloads have been working great so far, so Curt and I are also contemplating offering some of our unit studies at SUPER reduced ebook rates. Keep watching!
And to everyone who has contacted us: THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks for the ebook. We spend quite a bit in groceries but we also have the benefit of my husband working at a resaurant supply store so we buy in bulk and then do not have to buy for a while. We get 10 lbs. of ground beef for about $10 and 40 lbs. of chicken for $40-$42. This saves us per serving in the long run. I have also started being creative with left overs, more than reheat and eat!
