My oldest son had horrible allergies. Not just the itchy, watery kind. He would break out, get hives and whelps, face and throat would swell, and even at times get sick to his stomach. He started eating local honey. a little a day. Today, he doesn't even really have a problem with seasonal allergies. My next stop? PIMPLES! has anyone had any success with that??? another little interesting tid bit. i was talking to a missionary in South Africa some months back. Their daughter had surgery. they gave her a cream or ointment rather that was mostly honey to put on her incision!

refering to "Leaders of men or followers of Christ", Aug 19,2009.

well formulated! I was surfing for articles relating to Christian Leadership Development. Before finding your page I had the Bible open at Hebrews 11. Certainly Christbased leadership in action. Blessings to all the moms & dads in obedience.

How much am I willing to spend? It varies, greatly. I will say I'm much more likely to take a chance on something cheap than something expensive, if I'm not sure. But if it seems "just the thing" I am looking for, AND I can't find anything else, and I manage to convince myself I "need" it... I'd spend $11 for a 14-page book, But it'd be a much harder sell.

It's not like a book, you don't have lots of places to go and get a particular book you are interested in, just the people that sell it.

I have used arrowroot and it does work almost as well as cornstarch. Am I right in thinking it is derived from kudzu roots? I think I read that once. Anyway, I usually don't use it because it is more expensive than cornstarch...and I'm a horrific cheapskate.

We do use whole wheat flour (I even have a Whispermill grinder which I love!)to make bread. I hadn't thought of using it for thickening. I'll have to try that sometime!

Thanks for the comment!
